What it does
Tell it a name, a brand, or a few keywords, pick a vibe, and it generates handles that actually follow WhatsApp's format rules: the right length, the right characters, starting with a letter, no stray periods. Every suggestion gets an estimate of how likely it is to still be free, so you can skip the obvious taken ones.
The honest part
WhatsApp doesn't publish which usernames are taken. There is no public directory and no way to check availability from the outside. So our score is an estimate based on how common and how short a handle is, not a guarantee. The only way to know for sure is to open WhatsApp and try to reserve it. We'd rather say that up front than pretend we have a crystal ball.
How the estimate is calculated
The availability meter is a local heuristic that runs on the words in the handle, with no network call and no scraping of WhatsApp. It weighs a few signals that tend to track how contested a name is: length (very short handles get claimed first), whether it is a common first name or a common word, whether it uses numbers or a period or underscore, and how many parts it has. Those combine into a 0 to 100 score and a plain-language band (good odds, might be taken, likely taken). It is a shortlisting aid, not a verdict, and we label it that way everywhere it appears.
